All About Me
Life before college: Before I decided to go back to school I worked in the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union 136 in Evansville, Indiana. While working through Local 136 I learned about hard work, commitment, communication and how to be a team leader and take charge on my jobs. Also I got a top notch education through my apprenticeship program and that is where I learned and gained the confidence to go back to school. Durring my time in the union I met many influential people in my life that played a vital role in my decision to go back to school and persue my dream to be a teacher and coach.
Education: It was important for my family that I recieve a religeous education as well as my overall education so I attended Catholic Schools from k-12 in Evansville Indiana. For me this was the type of atmosphere I needed to help me get through school, the teachers were strict and made sure you were learning and you didn't fall behind, where in a larger public school I might of. Durring this expiernce I learned alot about myself and took on many different challenges to make Sure I suceeded in the the Catholic School Systems and that has helped shape me to who I am today. Although Catholic Schools are not for everybody they helped me become an overall better person and taught me much about disiplne and self worth.
Family: I am the second youngest of six in my family in age ranges from 43-28, there were four boys and two girls. I am very proud of my family and my family name because of the way we were brought up to be good people and to work hard for what we want and not to let anybody tell us otherwise. One side of my family alone I have 17 aunts and uncles and 86 first cousins, having a family this big can seem like a little much, but I had wonderfull childhood because of it. All of the 17 besides one stayed in Evansville and we were very close and always together. I learned from this the importance of family in your life and how it can make you a better more positive person when you are around people who care about your well being.
Coaching: One of the main reasons I went back to school is to get the oppurtunity to be a head coach someday. I have coached for over 13 years now from 2nd graders all the way to the varsity level of high school. I have always enjoyed and been some what sucessfull in getting my message across and not only winning games, but develop great relationships with my athletes and being there for them in anyway I can and in any compassity in and out of sports. I take pride in the fact that I can be a disipled coach and also have the ability to halisten and be threre for my athletes and they know they can come to me for anything and I will do everything n my power to help.
Motivation: I was not a perfect student growing up, I had a learning disability that over looked by the school system and for every good teacher I had there was a bad one that did everthing in their power to keep me down and to feel inferior to the othe students. As a student at first I went the wrong rout with getting in trouble and failing classes untill I decided to stop letting people tell me what I can and cant do and to attack them head on and prove everyone wrong. I feel I have done that so that is why I want to be a teacher and coach I want to give everyone a chance to suceed, I know whats it like to struggle in school and I want the students to know and to have the confidence that anything is possiable and to have faith and belief that you can accomplish it and nothing can stop you. I leared how to be a good teacher from the good ones I have had throughout my education, but I also need to think the bad ones forgiving me the desire and determination to fullfill my dream tto be a teacher and coach.
